Stats updated including:  Wednesday, February 3rd.   Minor Playoff Schedule Change   Not that anyone's final standings are set in stone to determine when and where you play in our playoffs yet, but I just wanted to bring to your attention a minor change I made in the playoff schedule.    In light of the recent apparent 'clampdown' on post-game refreshements at the Rutland Arena, I have switched what will end up being the 'B Finals' games to Winfield on Sun Feb 28th and moved the 1st Round of what will be the 'A' side that same night to Rutland.  I had not taken this into consideration when I first was putting the Playoff schedule together.   I thought this was only fair in order to ensure that each team had the opportunity to have more time to BS about their season after what will end up being their final games of the season.  As the 'A Finals' games are already at Winfield (Mar 1 & 3), this seemed like the right thing to do, and I know everyone will agree.   For those who may be new to our League, and as a refresher to everyone else, this is only the 2nd season the LCOHA has had 'Playoffs.'  At the end of the regular season (upon completion of the games on Feb 21st), the top 4 teams become 'A' and the bottom 4 become 'B.'  The 1st and 4th place in each division play as do the 2nd and 3rd.  The winners of each game play each other for the 'A' and 'B' Final respectively, and the losers also play each other in the 'Consolation.'  This way everyone gets the same amount of games.   Last season, the League was able to provide some small prizes to each player who played in the A and B Finals games (t-shirts, skate mats, ball caps, etc).  I'm currently looking to see if the same can be done for this season or not.   Enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday (no teams are playing, though 4 are playing on Saturday - see schedule if nececessary), and tell us who you think will win the Super Bowl by answering the new Poll Question! MAJOR Schedule Changes & Playoff Dates Finalized  Posted by: Dean Henry Thursday, January 28, 2010 Major Schedule Changes and Playoff Dates Finalized   Well, I've finally been able to secure some additional ice and make the changes necessary to finish the season on time and schedule the playoffs accordingly.  Please check your schedule for the month of February, as most teams' schedules have changed.    To see when the playoffs are, click on the 'Schedule' tab at the top of this page and then select '2009-2010 Playoffs' from the 'Schedule by Season' drop-down menu.   Here is a summary of the changes: Rutland games that were scheduled on Sun. Feb 14th have been moved to afternoon games on Sat. Feb 6th at PROSPERA PLACE (Drifters, Bent Sticks, Beer Hounds and Falcons affected).  This is due to a Ringette Tourney scheduled that weekend at Rutland. Games that had been scheduled on Mon. 22nd and Wed. Feb 24th have been moved to afternoon games on Sat. Feb 13th at WINFIELD in order to make room for Playoff games (Brewers, Thrashers, Drifters and Beer Hounds affected). Games on Mon. Feb 15th and Wed. Feb 17th were switched with each other to prevent the Thrashers from having to play 3 days in a row (Drifters, Thrashers, Bent Sticks and Falcons affected).  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but these changes were necessary to ensure that we got all our season in before the March Break.  There was also limited ice available (unless teams would rather play at 11pm which I didn't think was appropriate) so I made the decision for some teams to play on Saturdays.  I was also able to avoid any teams having to play on Super Bowl Sunday, which was preferred by a slim majority.  FYI, the Gold Medal Olympic Game falls on Sunday, February 28th, but the game is scheduled for 12:15pm.  All teams play that day (including the 'B' Final & Consolation games).  These games were already scheduled and would be too difficult to move at this point in time.   Please consult your Team Rep with any concerns you may have so they can be forwarded to me if necessary.   Also, please see the other important posting below.   Dean     >> Brewers Awarded Win - Jan 28, 2010 >> Beer Hounds and Bent Sticks Suspensions - Jan 18, 2010 >> Clearing out Rultand Dressing Rooms - Jan 17, 2010 >> Brewers Suspension Rescinded - Jan 14, 2010 >> Brewers Suspensions #1 - Jan 12, 2010 ....................................................................................................................................
