Beer Hounds Take It All!
Well the Beer Hounds have become the 'Gold Medal' Team for the LCOHA this season by winning the 'A Division.' They defeated the Drifters handily by a score of 5-2, including an empty netter. The Drifters fought valiantly and gave up a single power-play goal, but just couldn't get the offense firing on all cylinders as both Drifters goals came on the same shift.
The Sabres, of course, beat the Champs 3-1 in a fast-paced game this past Sunday to claim top spot in the 'B Division.'
As there were no discount skate mats/T-shirts available this season, both the Beer Hounds and Sabres were each awarded a 'flat' of Molson Canadian and 2 very large bottles of cheap champagne for their efforts.
Based on the calendar and the upcoming 'March Break,' the season did not play into March as much as it did last season. I want to thank all players (and their supportive families), Team Reps, Referees and Timekeepers for what I thought was the LCOHA's best season yet! There were very few suspensions and it seems everyone had a lot of fun! There will likely be discussion at the next Team Rep meeting regarding the top teams and bottom teams playing each other a little more often to keep thing a little more competitive and we will keep you all posted!
I wish everyone and their families a great summer as you dig your boats and golf clubs out of storage and clean up your BBQ's for what I'm sure will be another sun and beer-filled summer! Check out the new poll question on the left and let me know your thoughts!
